SEATTLE -- Cal State Bakersfield, playing its first-ever Western Athletic Conference volleyball match, defeated Seattle University 13-25, 25-20, 25-22, 25-18 on Thursday night.

The Roadrunners (8-6) had 15 kills by Debora Araujo and 10 kills by Kelsee Sawyer. Mariah Alvidrez had 14 digs and Fernanda Goncalves had 31 assists.

Seattle is 3-13.

The Roadrunners, who won't play their home opener until next Thursday against Chicago State, travel to Idaho for another WAC match on Saturday night.
