Mac Williamson hit a three-run home run in the eighth, and Bobby Haney added a two-run blast in the ninth to help the San Jose Giants pull away for a 10-2 victory over the Bakersfield Blaze in the opener of a four-game California League series at Sam Lynn Ballpark.

Myles Schroder was 3-for-6 with two doubles for San Jose, which scored three in the first and led 5-0 before Bakersfield finally got on the board in the fourth.

The Blaze loaded the bases, but managed just one run, coming when David Vidal walked with two outs.

Bakersfield added another run in the ninth, when Juan Duran led off with a walk, moved to second on a ground out and to third on a single by Danny Vicioso.

Duran scored on a ground out by Juan Perez before Junior Arias flied out to end the game.

Arias was the lone Blaze player with multiple hits, going 2-for-5.

The teams play tonight at 7:30.
