BOGOTA, Colombia -- Bakersfield native Bhavik Patel rebounded from a triple bogey on his first hole Saturday to fire a 2-under 69, placing him fourth at the Colombia Championship.

Patrick Cantlay and Jim Renner share the 54-hole lead at 13-under. Shane Bertsch is in third at 10-under and Patel is 10-under entering today's final round.

Patel yanked his first tee shot on the opening hole of his third round at the Tour event, leading to the triple bogey.

"I was a little nervous but my right foot just slipped," said Patel in a tour press release. "Maybe I tried to swing a little too hard but when my foot slipped I just yanked it. After that I just told myself to keep fighting. I knew there were plenty of chances to come back."

After the first hole, Patel shot 5-under over the next seven, with a eagle on the par-5 eighth. He was even-par on the back nine. Patel, a 22-year-old rookie on the Tour, missed the cut in his first event last week.
