Forward Renaldo Major scored 20 points, Damion James had 11 rebounds and guard Diante Garrett had 10 assists Friday to lead the Bakersfield Jam to a 102-86 victory over the Reno Bighorns at the Dignity Health Event Center.

It was the sixth straight victory for the Jam, who improved to 17-7 and lead second-place Santa Cruz by 11/2 games in the NBA D-League's West Division.

Guard Walker Russell scored 19 points, and Dar Tucker added 18 for Bakersfield.

Six-foot-9, 260-pound forward Samardo Samuels, out of Louisville, scored 20 points to lead Reno (8-12), which was hampered by poor free- throw shooting (18-of-36).

The teams play again at 7 p.m. today at the Event Center.
