The NBA's Brooklyn Nets signed Bakersfield Jam guard/forward Damion James.
Originally selected by the Atlanta Hawks in the first round (24th pick) of the 2010 NBA draft, James returns to the Nets after playing for them during the 2010-11 and 2011-12 seasons, when he averaged 4.5 points, 3.7 rebounds and 17.9 minutes in 32 games, 16 as a starter.
In 17 games, all starts, for Bakersfield this season, James averaged 15.5 points, 7.3 rebounds and 28.8 minutes.
James was one of three Jam players to earn All-NBA D-League Showcase honors. He was named to the All-Showcase second team. His Jam teammates Renaldo Major and Jerel McNeal were All-Showcase honorable mention picks.
Fifteen NBA prospects were selected to the Showcase's first, second, and third teams, by a panel of NBA scouts and D-League personnel following the four-day, 16-game Showcase last week in Reno.
