LAS VEGAS -- Travis Wallace had 22 points and nine rebounds and North Florida shot 63 percent from the field en route to an 80-70 victory over Cal State Bakersfield on Saturday at the Las Vegas Classic.
Brandon Barnes led CSUB (4-9) with 21 points, while also contributing two blocks and a steal. Stephon Carter added 18 points, eight rebounds and a game-high four steals, while Javante Maynor and Tyrone White each scored 11 points.
Wallace was 7 of 8 from the field and 8 of 9 at the free-throw line as the Ospreys (4-8) snapped a four-game losing streak. Charles McRoy added 15 points and Parker Smith had 13 for North Florida.
The Ospreys broke the game open with 12 straight points at the end of the first half and the start of the second to take a 45-30 lead.
The Roadrunners pulled back within nine points with 5:50 remaining following a Barnes 3-pointer, but the Ospreys again went on a 6-0 run to pull back up by double figures. North Florida scored 40 points in the post.
CSUB has lost three in a row and hasn't beaten a Division I team since Dec. 6 at Cal State Fullerton.
The Roadrunners play their final game of the tournament today at 12:45 p.m. against Mississippi Valley State (0-8), which lost 63-52 to Georgia Southern (5-6) on Saturday.
After the Las Vegas Classic, the Roadrunners play against Loyola Marymount in Los Angeles on Saturday at 7 p.m. CSUB then faces North Carolina A&T at Rabobank Arena on Dec. 30 at 4 p.m.
