LOVELAND, Colo. -- Kevin Ulanski scored two goals and the Colorado Eagles held off a late offensive push by the Condors on Wednesday night for a 3-2 victory.
Bakersfield pulled goaltender Brian Stewart with 74 seconds left and spent most of that time attacking but did not get a shot on goal despite several shots.
Trailing by a goal entering the final period, the Condors had three golden opportunities to tie the game -- three power plays over a span of 10 minutes, starting 3:26 into the period. But those power plays generated zero shots on goal.
The Condors were outshot 34-22 and yielded 19 of those shots in the first period.
Bakersfield (7-18-1-2) has lost four straight, while the Eagles improved to 14-11-1-2.
Jacob Lagace set off a flurry of first-period power-play goals when he scored 10:15 into the period to put the Condors up 1-0.
The Eagles went on a power play 11 seconds later and it took just 33 seconds for Kevin Ulanski to tie the game.
The Eagles made it 2-1 at 13:43 when Joey Sides registered his 10th goal on another power-play goal.
Bakersfield killed more than two minutes of Colorado power-play time to start the second but Ulanski got his second of the during full strength off a quick up-ice rush at 3:38.
The Condors picked up their tempo as the period wore on and cut the lead to 3-2 on a goal by Peter Boyd at 13.57.
Daniel Koger, playing his first game as a Condor, assisted on Boyd's goal.
In addition to Koger, the Condors had another new player in the lineup -- defenseman Deron Cousens.
Bakersfield claimed Cousens off waivers from Greenville, S.C. on Saturday but he went to the Central Hockey League to play for the Arizona Sundogs.
He played his third game for the Sundogs on Tuesday night then left to join the Condors. He arrived at the arena about an hour before game time.
The Condors had played the last several games with just four true defensemen due to injuries.
Cousens (6-foot-1, 190 pounds) is well-traveled. The Condors is his fifth pro team in two years. Forty-eight of his 61 games were with Florida.
