BONSALL -- Kristin Grimes of College of the Canyons shot a 7-over-par 79 Tuesday for a two-day total of 150 that gave her the individual title in the California Community College Southern Regional Championship at San Luis Rey Downs Country Club.

Kate Cho of Irvine Valley was the tournament runner-up at 152 (76-76) and her teammates Halle Young (76-79) and Sally Kim (77-78) placed third and fourth, respectively, as the Lasers won the team title with a score of 624. Glendale (671) was second. Those two teams, as well as the top 12 players not on those two teams, will represent the Southern Region in the Nov. 12-13 CCCAA Women's Golf state championship at Temecula Creek golf course.

Bakersfield College's Chelsey Roberts (94-92--186) placed 29th. BC did not compete as a team.
