Bakersfield Christian's boys tennis team, seeking its 10th consecutive Central Section championship, drew the top seed in the Division III boys tennis playoff bracket released Monday.

The Eagles are led by top singles player Jack Han, who transferred to BCHS after a family move from Canada three weeks ago. BCHS will open the playoffs with a home semifinal vs. Tulare Union on Thursday in the four-team bracket. No. 2 Ridgeview hosts No. 3 Delano in the other semifinal, with the winners meeting in next Tuesday's championship.

Another South Sequoia League team, Taft, is the top seed in Division IV. The Wildcats have a bye through Thursday's first round but could face Visalia-Central Valley Christian in next Tuesday's quarterfinals. CVC, seeded No. 8 this year, beat Taft 5-4 for last year's D-IV championship.

In Division I, Southwest Yosemite League champion Stockdale drew the No. 4 seed and will play host to No. 13 Visalia-El Diamante on Thursday. The Mustangs were seeded behind No. 1 Fresno-Bullard, No. 2 Clovis West and No. 3 Clovis-Buchanan.

Clovis North is fifth, and No. 6 Liberty will play host to No. 11 Fresno-Central in the first round. No. 9 Bakersfield at No. 8 Garces is another first-round matchup, and No. 10 Frontier plays at No. 7 Clovis East.

No. 7 Tehachapi is the highest-seeded local team in Division II; the Warriors host No. 10 East, with West seeded eighth. Fresno-Memorial is the top seed.

The individual singles and doubles draw will be determined next week, with the area tournament May 9-10 at Garces.
