A month-long investigation into a group of people allegedly dealing large amounts of methamphetamine in the Bakersfield area resulted in three arrests.

Deputies said they served a search warrant Tuesday in the 1300 block of Chattahoochee Lane in east Bakersfield and seized 2 1/2 pounds of meth, 82 marijuana plants and a stolen handgun. Two children in the home were taken into protective custody.

Ramberto Perez, 35, and Karina Lopez, 38, were arrested on suspicion of drug-related offenses, conspiracy and child endangerment, deputies said.

Later Tuesday, a second search warrant was served at the home of 36-year-old Oscar Salazar in the 1700 block of Poplar Avenue in Wasco. Deputies said they believe Salazar was working with Perez to sell drugs. They seized a quarter-ounce of cocaine and $1,400 in cash.

Salazar was booked on suspicion of possession of drugs and transportation of drugs.
