MOSCOW, Idaho -- Cal State Bakersfield never trailed and stunned first-place Idaho 79-60 Thursday night for the Vandals' first Western Athletic Conference loss of the season.
The Roadrunners, who are alone in second place in the WAC, improved to 14-8 overall and 8-2 in the WAC.
The CSUB defense limited Idaho (17-7, 10-1 WAC) to 26 percent shooting (20-of-76) and the Vandals were only 4 of 30 on 3s.
Bakersfield led 39-24 at halftime and the lead never dropped below 13 in the second half.
Tyonna Outland had 24 points and 10 rebounds to lead CSUB. Melissa Sweat added 17 points and Dajy Vines scored 15.
CSUB outrebounded the Vandals 58-43. They have won six straight since its last loss, which was to Idaho in January at home.
