The Outlets at Tejon has added another prestigious retail name to the 28 stores that have already committed to the planned outlet center south of Bakersfield.

San Francisco-based Pottery Barn, a high-end home furnishings retailer, confirmed in a news release Thursday that it will join Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger, Banana Republic and more than two dozens other retailers at the new mall being built near the base of the Grapevine.

The new 12,397-square-foot store will be Pottery Barn's ninth outlet store in the U.S. and its only current outlet store in California, according to the release.

The 320,000-square-foot outlet center is located off Interstate 5, about 20 miles south of Bakersfield. The new center is under construction and is slated to open in August.

"Pottery Barn is a brand that has an incredibly strong customer following, built through years of providing the highest quality designer goods for the home at an affordable price," said Hugh McMahon, vice president of commercial & industrial real estate for Tejon Ranch Co., which, along with The Rockefeller Group, is developing the retail center.

More store announcements are expected in the coming weeks and months.
