The Outlets at Tejon has added three big new names to the growing list of retailers who plan to hang their shingle at the new mall at the base of the Grapevine. And more names are coming.

Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger and Van Heusen have all signed on at The Outlets and cleared their names for release to the public, said Barry Zoeller, vice president of corporate communications for Tejon Ranch Company.

The three retailers join 25 other shopping outlets including H&M, Gap, Banana Republic, OshKosh, White House/Black Market and Aeropostale, listed on The Outlet's web page.

And Zoeller said there are a number of other retailers in the lease process and more announcements will be coming in the next few weeks and months.

Zoeller said that The Outlets will have space for about 70 individual shops -- depending on the space each retailer needs -- and all the spots are expected to be filled or close to filled on opening day.

The grand opening will be Aug. 7, Zoeller said.

Chamber President and CEO Cindy Pollard said there is a lot of excitement about The Outlets and what Tejon Ranch, a Chamber member, is bringing to Kern County.

"I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a Kasper suit outlet," Pollard said.

She said having access to outlet shopping here in Kern County would be a great thing for locals looking for expanded shopping options.

But the development, she said, may get outsiders to spend here, too.

"What's really exciting for me is the county will be able to capitalize on a lot of those dollars driving by us on the I-5," Pollard said.
