Bakersfield police have arrested two suspects in connection with a holiday shooting at an event hall.

Police identified Tavon Roberts, 35, and Gary Pierson, 32, both of Bakersfield, as suspects in a shooting that occurred at Southern Hospitality at 35100 Wible Road and sent two men to local hospitals with one gunshot wound each on New Year's Day.

Police found Roberts and Pierson at Lowell Park on Friday at about 6 p.m., a news release said. Police said Pierson had a handgun.

The two men were arrested and booked into the downtown jail on suspicion of more than half a dozen felony crimes, including attempted murder and gang and weapons crimes.
