All of the CIF state championship bowl games in Carson this weekend will be streamed live on the internet, including both games involving Bakersfield teams.
The games, which are scheduled to be televised on a channel not available in Kern County, can be seen on www.twcsportschannel.com. The stream is free to anyone with internet access, regardless of cable or satellite provider.
Both local championship games this weekend -- Bakersfield Christian vs. Modesto-Central Catholic in Division IV at 4 p.m. Friday, and Bakersfield vs. Loomis-Del Oro in Division I at 8 p.m. Friday -- are being broadcast on SoCal 101. As of Tuesday night; Brighthouse and the CIF had not announced an arrangement to show the games locally.
Saturday afternoon's Las Vegas Bowl will be on three different radio stations in the Bakersfield area, which features local products at quarterback for both teams.
KNZR will carry the Fresno State feed on its FM station, 97.7 FM, and its AM station, 1560 AM, with pregame coverage beginning at 11:30 a.m.
KHTY 970 AM will have the USC feed for the game, which kicks off at 12:30 p.m. Saturday at Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas.
Centennial graduate Cody Kessler, a redshirt sophomore, will lead the 8-4 USC Trojans in the game against Fresno State and senior quarterback Derek Carr, a Bakersfield Christian graduate.
The game will be televised on ABC beginning at noon.
WALNUT -- Bakersfield College had three players score more than 20 points and beat defending state champion Mount San Antonio 78-75 on Tuesday night in men's basketball.
Van Holloway had 23 points, with seven 3s, to lead the Renegades (8-4). Dequan Green added 22 points and Lawrence Moore scored 21.
BC is off until the Hancock tournament that begins Dec. 28. The Renegades are 4-0 in road single (non-tournament) games this season.
Bakersfield High is selling advance tickets to its championship game in the school's finance office from 8 a.m.-3:30 p.m. today and Thursday, and from 8 a.m.-noon Friday.
Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for students, children and seniors (Parking is an additional $10 charge). Ticket prices are the same at the StubHub Center in Carson, but schools keep one dollar from all advance tickets sold.
One ticket is good for both Friday games. An additional ticket is required to see Saturday's games.
