Bakersfield College celebrated a big birthday Friday night -- 100 years -- with a Centennial Gala at the campus Gil Bishop Sports Center.

The night included dinner catered by Bakersfield College Culinary Arts, music from Thee Majestics, dancing and an auction.

During the course of the year, the college is honoring 100 people "who have made a difference and have a connection to Bakersfield College," according to a college news release.

The college says nominations for the 100 Stars will continue through the end of the year. Make a nomination at http://www.bakersfieldcollege.edu/centennial/100stars.asp.
