Erika Padron Lango has four children, and a job as a dental assistant. What she didn't have was a good marriage.
Police said the 26-year-old Delano resident took out a restraining order against her husband, Julio, who was arrested Thursday for violating it.
By then, however, Erika Lango was missing.
Friday, Delano Police impounded Julio Lango's SUV after being called by his wife's family.
"The family saw some stains inside the vehicle," said Sgt. Peter Lopez, supervisor of investigations at the department. "We don't know what they are. They could be anything."
Lopez said items in the SUV included a dark red sweater and a baseball bat. He said it was unknown whether they were connected to Erika Lango's disappearance.
Lab work on the items and the SUV could take as long as a month, Lopez said.
According to Lopez, the missing woman was last seen by her husband at 10 p.m. on Oct. 9 when she left their Delano apartment to visit a friend. Police said she did not arrive at the friend's home. Neither did she show up for work the next day.
Lopez said the couple's apartment was searched and there was nothing to indicate any kind of struggle or foul play."
With their mother missing and their father jailed Thursday for violating the restraining order, the couple's four children were in the care of Erika Lango's mother. On Friday, they were placed in protective custody.
Lopez said that Julio Lango is considered a person of interest in the case.
Erika Lango is described as Hispanic, 5 feet 4 inches tall, 125 pounds, with brown eyes and straight long brown hair.
She has a tattoo on her right shoulder blade of "Julio" and was last seen wearing black sandals, blue sweat pants and a blue or pink sweater top.
