Cal State Bakersfield's men's basketball team has finalized its roster for the upcoming season with the official announcement that sophomore power forward Aly Mohamed Ahmed from Midland (Texas) College and freshman guard Brent Wrapp from Fairview High in Boulder, Colo., have joined the team.

The Californian reported last week that Ahmed, a native of Egypt who played on that country's Under-19 national team in 2009, had committed to CSUB, but university officials could not comment at the time because his paperwork had not been completed.

"Aly has a great feel for the game," said CSUB coach Rod Barnes in a news release. "He can score inside and outside and is a really good passer and rebounder."

Wrapp, who's 6-foot-3 and 170 pounds, averaged 16.4 points and 6.5 assists per game as a high school senior last season.

"Brent has good size, a high basketball IQ and has been well coached," Barnes said. "He rebounds well from the point guard position and likes to get his teammates involved."

CSUB officially begins practice on Sept. 27 and will play its season opener on Nov. 8 at Washington State.
