Bakersfield City Firefighters are quick to respond to a fire at the Vineyard Christian Fellowship Church on 17th and O Street in Bakersfield Thursday. According to the Bakersfield Fire Department incident report the cause of the fire appears to be due to a malfunctioning air conditioning unit.

A malfunctioning air-conditioning unit caused a fire at the Vineyard Christian Fellowship Church in downtown Bakersfield Thursday afternoon.

Bakersfield firefighters said the blaze caused $75,000 in damage. There were no injuries.

Firefighters responded to the church at 3:28 p.m. at 17th and O streets and saw fire coming from the northeast side of the building. The fire was brought under control in 41 minutes.
