The hunt for one of the suspects in a July 17 double homicide and robbery of an area pot shop ended Friday night with the arrest of Aaron Patrick Burris, 32, according to Bakersfield Police.
Burris was tracked to an Oildale apartment on Wainwright Drive and surrendered without incident about 5 p.m., police said.
A second suspect, identified as Miracle Jackson, 16, is still on the loose.
Also Friday night, officers arrested Robert Thrower, 30; Jamie Wandick, 25; Darnell Warren 24; Joevaughn Spencer, 23; and Danny Webster, 25, on suspicion of being accessories and participation in a criminal street gang,
Investigators said Burris and Jackson robbed the First Reliable medical marijuana collective at 217 Chester Ave., killing the owner and an unarmed security gard.
Shot to death were Tony Conrad Sherman, 55, of Los Angeles, and Devin Daniels, 23, of Bakersfield.
Bridget Daniels, Devin's mother, told The Californian her son attended West High School, where he played football. Other interests included fishing, traveling, taking his kids out and just hanging out with family and friends.
Devin Daniels leaves behind three daughters -- ages 5, 3 and 2 -- and is due to have a son in December. The woman pregnant with his son, Eliciana Echevarrias, told The Californian Devin Daniels loved his family and got along with everyone.
It was the first homicide known to occur inside a pot dispensary in Kern County.
