The Water Fire starts to flare up in several spots Tuesday morning as the day progesses and the temperatures rise.

The Water fire in the Lebec area was 95 percent contained as of Thursday morning and fire officials were expecting minimal activity throughout the day.

The fire has burned 612 acres and 25 homes are still threatened, according to a Kern County Fire Department's news release. The blaze began Tuesday morning west of Interstate 5 and north of the Fort Tejon exit.
