Two women mourn the loss of a male pedestrian who was struck and killed by a pickup truck at the intersection of Oak Street and Chester Lane late Thursday afternoon.

The coroner's office said the person who died Thursday after being struck by a vehicle was 17 years old.

Aaron Mathew Hafeli of Bakersfield died from his injuries at 4:17 p.m. at the intersection of Oak Street and Chester Lane.

The Bakersfield Police Department is investigating; police said the driver of the pickup is cooperating with officers.
