A Bakersfield College student has reported that she was sexually assaulted on BC's campus last week.

The student said the sexual assault occurred the afternoon of July 10, according to a BC news release. The victim filed a report with the Bakersfield Police Department two days later, and BC was notified of the assault Tuesday morning.

The student told police she was approached by the suspect on the north side of the Student Services building, the news release said. He walked the victim to the GET Bus terminal on Panorama Drive and then to the Fine Arts building, where he sexually assaulted her in a men's restroom.

The news release said the victim left the building and encountered the suspect a second time. He walked her to the Student Services building's first floor concourse and assaulted her a second time in the men's restroom.

These incidents took place between 2-4 p.m., according to the news release. The victim reported seeing the suspect the day after the assault near the Campus Center on BC.

The suspect is described as black, 5 feet 9 inches tall, slightly overweight, with black curly hair and a moustache, and tattoos on his right wrist and right upper chest in black ink, the news release said. He was wearing a gray shirt, black shorts, and black shoes with white laces.

Anyone who witnesses unusual activity in or around BC and its parking lots is asked to call Bakersfield College Public Safety at 395-4554 or 395-4555, or 911 in an emergency.
