Homicide detectives were called to a Bakersfield home late Friday afternoon after the partially decomposed body of a man was found inside.
Kern County Sheriff's Cmdr. Steve Hansen said family of the man discovered him at 3:50 p.m. after breaking a window to get inside his house at 604 S. Real Road. The body had not yet been positively identified, and by its decomposition it appeared the man had been dead for about a day.
Hansen said family last had contact with the man sometime on July 4. The house is located north of Belle Terrace and west of Highway 99.
