Police have arrested a suspect in connection with a stabbing at a popular downtown bar that left the victim with serious but non-lifethreatening injuries.

Police said they arrested 46-year-old Antonio Saldana and booked him on suspicion of attempted murder.

The stabbing happened 5:25 p.m. Tuesday at Guthrie's Alley Cat on Wall Street just east of Eye Street, police said. Saldana and the victim were involved in a physical altercation inside the bar.

Saldana left, but returned a short time later and stabbed the victim numerous times, police said. He then ran from the bar but was soon identified and tracked down.
