Bakersfield-based Mission Bank has handed its chief executive officer position over to A.J. Antongiovanni.
Richard Fanucchi, the out-going CEO, "will assume a part-time business development role and remain on the Mission Bancorp's board of directors," according to a statement released by the bank.
"A.J. is an outstanding leader with a proven track record of success. Investors, employees and customers can expect Mission Bank to continue to grow and prosper with A.J. at the helm for many years to come," wrote Mission Bank board Chairman Arnold Cattani, in the statement.
Antongiovanni is a Garces High School graduate, according to the release, who worked for Wells Fargo Bank in San Francisco before returning to Bakersfield in 2003 to take a management position with Mission Bank.
His elevation completes the board of director's two-year plan to transition leadership, according to the statement.
