Kern County Sheriff's homicide detectives are investigating a fight in East Bakersfield that sent two people to the hospital early Sunday morning.
Kern County Sheriff's deputies were sent to the 700 block of Sterling Road at about 2:15 a.m. for a report of shots fired, according to a Sheriff's Office news release. They found a large group of people at the scene and learned there had been a fight amongst "multiple females." A black woman had been stabbed in the hand during the brawl and was taken to Kern Medical Center to be treated.
During their investigation, deputies learned that a shooting victim, a black man, had been taken to KMC in a private vehicle. He is in critical condition, according to the news release.
