The Kern County Probation Department says a Thursday night probation search in the 2600 block of Potomac Avenue turned up a variety of drugs and more than $100,000 in US currency.
Officers from the Kern County Probation Department's Gang Intervention and Suppression Tam and the K9 Unit turned up more than 35 grams of suspected heroin, 23 grams of suspected cocaine, 15 grams of suspected methamphetamine and four grams of marijuana, according to a probation department news release.
The search was done at about 9 p.m.
Officers arrested Jose Mojarro Cruz and Alicia Rangel, both 27, on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of sales, possession of a narcotic controlled substance, possession of a narcotic controlled substance for the purpose of sales, and possession of prescription medication without a prescription, the news release said.
Cruz was also arrested on suspicion of active participation in a criminal street gang.
