The Kern High School District has confirmed that a school administrator is on leave while the district looks into allegations by North High School cheerleaders that he walked in on them changing clothes in a bathroom and lingered while they scrambled to get dressed.

Parents of some cheerleaders told KERO Channel 23 that an adult male entered a girls' bathroom where the girls were changing clothes to tell them to hurry up and get ready for class, the station reported.

The girls said they tried to cover up and were surprised that the man didn't immediately leave, according to KERO.

High school district spokesman John Teves couldn't be reached for comment Wednesday afternoon.

But he told KERO that the girls' parents were notified of the incident immediately and that the administrator had been placed on paid leave pending the outcome of an investigation.
