One person was killed and three others injured when an accused drunken driver lost control of his vehicle and overturned on Highway 43 near Hanford.

The identity of the 69-year-old Bakersfield woman killed in the crash Monday has not yet been released, according to the California Highway Patrol. Three other Bakersfield residents in the car suffered injuries.

Officers said Reynaldo Garcia, 40, was driving northbound on Highway 43 north of Nevada Avenue when he made an unsafe turning movement and caused the vehicle to run off the road and onto the dirt shoulder. He turned to the left back onto the roadway but overcorrected back to the right and the vehicle went off the shoulder again.

The vehicle overturned several times, officers said.

Garcia and Job Garcia, 60, suffered major injuries, and Valerie L. Ramirez, 31, suffered moderate injuries, according to officers.

Reynaldo Garcia was arrested on suspicion of DUI.
