The Kern County Fire Department, in association with Bureau of Land Management and the US Forest Service, is inviting the community to a Wildfire Awareness Expo at the Kernville Rodeo Grounds.
From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 27, the event will provide the community with wildfire awareness, hazard reduction and emergency preparedness information, a Fire Department news release stated.
Wildland firefighting equipment will be on display, and the public will have the opportunity to meet local wildland firefighters. There will be free hot dogs, drinks, popcorn, activities for children, photo opportunities with Smokey Bear and more.
