Spring Select Team Revolution from AYSO 359 went unbeaten at the California Cup in Davis March 17 and became champions of the entire West Coast for AYSO sections 1,2,10 and 11. They beat Downey 6-4 in the semifinals and beat South Los Angeles 4-2 in the final. They have amassed a 21-0 record in league and tournament play. Coaches: Adela Gonzalez and Carolyn Sherman. The Bakersfield B-town Ballers captured the NJB All-Net Division I National championship with a 62-48 victory over the La Mirada Matadors in Sunday's title game at Cypress College. Bakersfield defeated the Irvine Thunder 67-48 and the Redwood All-Stars 62-50 to advance to the championship, finishing the two-day tournament 4-1. The team: Anthony Alcaide, Michael Barnett, Trent Driesen, Stevie Figures, Kyle Hunt, Jeremiah Johnson, Nick Neilson, Michael Residori, JohnPaul Sakowski, Ronnie Stapp. The team was coached by Brian Driesen with an assist by Ron Stapp.

Shooting

Tehachapi Mountains Search & Rescue 5th Annual Sporting Clay Shoot, April 27, at Kern County Gun Club, 12450 Shotgun Rd., in Bakersfield. The event will have up to 20 stations to shoot from. Four-person teams, or individual shooters, youth or adult. Cost of the 100-round ammunitions shoot (not included, but can be brought with each shooter or purchased at the shoot) is $75 per person or $300 per team if you register before March 30. Registration will be open through the morning of the event, at $80 per individual and $320 per team. Trophies for best shooter, junior shooter, female shooter and team.
