The City of Bakersfield Animal Control Division will hold a low-cost rabies vaccination, licensing and microchip clinic for pets Saturday.

From 9 a.m. to noon, animal control will offer rabbies vaccinations and licensing, with the opportunity for the pet to receive a free microchip once currently licensed, according to a Bakersfield Police Department news release.

The microchips are an effort to reduce the number of impounded animals entering shelters, the BPD news release said.

The clinic will be at Beale Park, 500 Oleander Ave.
