Kern County Sheriff's deputies from the Taft substation arrested two people after stopping a car Sunday.
Jorge Negrete, 26, was driving without a license and passenger Chandra Lacoy 34, was arrested on suspicion for possession of methamphetamine, possession of paraphernalia and being under the influence of a controlled substance, according to a sheriff's news release.
Deputies found Lacoy had about 15 grams of methamphetamine, the news release said. Lacoy was also arrested on suspicion of transporting a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of sale, the news release stated.
Lacoy was booked into the Taft City Jail. Negrete was issued a citation and released.
