A man was arrested on suspicion of possession of cocaine and methamphetamine Thursday, according to a Kern County Sheriff's news release.

At about 8:30 p.m. deputies from the Gang Suppression Section contacted Cheson Cosme, 36, at a convenience store at 300 North Chester Ave. Deputies searched the vehicle he was in and found a plastic grocery bag with methamphetamine, cocaine and paraphernalia consistent with drug sales, according to the news release.

Deputies also found another baggie of suspected methamphetamine inside the convenience store where Cosme had been before they arrived, the release said.

Cosme was arrested on suspicion of possession of cocaine, possession of cocaine for sale, possession of methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine for sale and violation of the electronic monitoring program, deputies reported.
