Ridgeview athletic director Kevin Sneed will be named the football coach at Centennial today, a source with knowledge of the situation said.
Centennial will officially announce its coach at a 1 p.m. news conference. The choice is expected to be Sneed, who previously coached the Golden Hawks from 1998-2000.
Sneed could not be reached for comment Tuesday.
He also was the head coach at West High from 1984-92. In 12 years combined at the two schools, according to Central Section historian Bob Barnett, Sneed never had a losing record. He compiled a 102-34 record with six league championships (including all three years at Centennial). His 1988 West team reached the Central Section championship game.
Between and since the stints at West and Centennial, Sneed has served as an assistant at West, Centennial, Foothill, Bakersfield College and Ridgeview. He became the Wolf Pack's athletic director last fall.
Sneed, 58, will replace Bryan Nixon, who left Centennial for Liberty's open position last month.
