A Start Smart program, aimed at helping newly licensed teenagers and those who will soon be licensed to understand the responsibilities of driving, will be help Feb. 19 and March 19 at the Bakersfield 420 Club at 3910 Alfred Harrell Highway.

The classes will begin at 6 p.m. and will feature presentations by California Highway Patrol officers and people who have been impacted by poor driving choices. The class is free, and parents are encouraged to attend with their children.
