Five players have signed letters of intent to play women's soccer at Cal State Bakersfield next season. Among them is Garces High senior Cassidy Swift, a defender who announced earlier this week that she had signed with CSUB.

The other four are Korey Cline, a goalkeeper from Feather River Junior College in Quincy, located northeast of Sacramento; Tasha Coleman, a midfielder from Horizon High in Cave Creek, Ariz.; Hedda Regefalk, a forward from Sweden; and Megan Vina, a goalkeeper from Arcata High in Northern California.

Cline (5-foot-10) was a two-time all-conference player at Feather River and a four-time all-league pick at Quincy High.

Coleman helped her club team to five Arizona state titles and is known for her "second to none" work ethic, said CSUB coach Melissa Phillips.

Regefalk led her club team to several top-three finishes in Sweden. Phillips said she'll make an immediate impact at CSUB.

Vina had 64 saves and 12 shutouts for Arcata High and allowed only five goals all season.

Phillips described Swift as "a tough, hard working wide back with the versatility to play in the middle of the field as well."

Phillips said other players could be added to CSUB's squad during the spring. CSUB was 6-11-2 as an independent last season and is moving into the Western Athletic Conference next season.
