During the course of a month-long drug investigation, Kern County sheriff's detectives found that 35-year-old Jose Manuel Garay Aparicio was involved in the sales of large amounts of methamphetamine from his apartment in the 6000 block of Nogal Avenue in Bakersfield.

Detectives served a search warrant at Aparicio's residence on Wednesday and took him into custody after he resisted arrest.

Detectives found seven pounds of meth and evidence of drug sales, including a scale and packaging material. Aparicio was arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance for sale and resisting arrest.
