CHICAGO -- Cal State Bakersfield made it 3-for-3 this season in women's basketball games against future Western Athletic Conference opponents with a 70-51 win at Chicago State on Thursday.
CSUB, a Division I independent that is moving to the WAC in July, beat future conference rivals Texas-Pan American and Utah Valley earlier this month.
The Roadrunners (8-15) extended their season-best winning streak to five games. They took the lead for good on an 11-0 run over the final 3:02 of the first half.
CSUB led 29-22 at halftime and had a double-digit lead the final 16:47.
Amber Williams led the Roadrunners with 15 points. Janae Coffee and Tyonna Outland scored 14 each, with Outland adding nine rebounds.
Freshman Batabe Zempare had eight points and a game-high 13 rebounds for CSUB.
Chicago State (2-18) was held to 31 percent shooting (19-of-61), including 3-of-14 on 3s. CSUB also had a 45-33 rebounding edge.
Jackie Jones had 16 points and eight rebounds to lead Chicago State.
