Bakersfield police are requesting the public's help identifying a suspect wanted for robbery.

At 12:27 p.m. Monday, officers received a call of a robbery that had just occurred at the Bank of Sierra at 2501 Mount Vernon Ave.

Officers learned the suspect entered the bank, approached one of the windows and handed a note to the bank teller demanding cash and threatening that she had a weapon. The suspect left the business with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspect is described as a light-skinned black or Hispanic woman, 40 to 50 years of age, 5 feet 4 inches tall, medium build, wearing prescription glasses and a gray sweater with a white shirt underneath.
