Bakersfield Police are still looking for the driver of a car that hit and killed a pedestrian on Thanksgiving, according to a Bakersfield Police Department news release sent Sunday afternoon.
At 6:53 p.m. Nov. 22, Buffy Mitchell, 33, was hit by a car in the 2000 block of Brundage Lane. The driver of that car stopped to help. But then Mitchell was hit by a second car, and she later died of her injuries.
The driver of the second vehicle did not stop. The car is described as a 1990s or newer, white or light-colored, four-door sedan, similar to a Toyota or Honda. The driver was last seen heading eastbound on Brundage Lane toward Mount Vernon Avenue, according to the news release.
Anyone with information is asked to the call the Bakersfield Police Department at 327-7111 or Officer Nicholas Gospich at 326-3967.
