McFarland police are hoping to raise enough money to sponsor at least five less fortunate families this Christmas.

The officers are hoping to help them with gifts, clothing and food. To help raise money, police have teamed with employees from the city of McFarland and have challenged faculty members from the McFarland High School and McFarland Unified School District to a basketball game.

The game will take place Wednesday at the Mouser Center at 100 2nd St. in McFarland. Doors open at 6 p.m. and admission is a $2 donation.

Anyone under 10 years old is admitted free.
