Bakersfield police are asking for the public's help identifying a suspect wanted for attempted robbery.

At 5:38 p.m. Nov. 15, Bakersfield Police Officers responded to a report of an attempted robbery in the 300 block of Niles Street. Officers learned the teenage victim and her mother were walking when the suspect, depicted in the approached the victim from behind and grabbed her purse.

The suspect struggled with the victim over the purse but was unable to get it. The suspect then went westbound on Niles Street.

The suspect is described as black, in his 20s, tall, slim, with a dark complexion, a mustache and a goatee. He was last seen wearing a black beanie, black letterman-style jacket with the word "Miami" on the back, riding a black BMX-style bicycle.
