A victim suffered multiple gunshot wounds Friday afternoon after two men shot at the victim and a man as they were pushing their car in the street, according to a Bakersfield Police Department news release.

The victim's injuries were described as moderate. The man the victim was with was not injured, according to the release.

At 4:26 p.m., officers went to the 3300 block of Lotus Lane on reports of a victim of a shooting. The victim and the man had been pushing a car in the road when the suspects drove up, stopped and shot at them, according to the news release.

The suspects drove away westbound on East Planz Road. The man tried to follow them in his car. When he drove passed Meek Street at East Planz, another unknown suspect shot at his car, according to the news release. The car was hit by gunfire, but the man was not.

The first two suspects are described as black males. They were driving a white, newer-model compact car, according to the news release.
