The victim of a fatal shooting at a family gathering Friday in northeast Bakersfield has been identified by the Kern County Coroner's Office.
Leo Johnson, 36, of Bakersfield, was shot and killed Friday evening at a home in the 1700 block of Lotus Lane.
According to a coroner's office news release, Johnson was at a family get-together when he was shot multiple times. He died at the scene as a result of his injuries, according to the release.
A postmortem examination is scheduled for the beginning of this week.
Darren Lewis, 24, said to be a relative of the victim, was arrested on suspicion of murder and of being a felon in possession of a firearm, according to a Bakersfield Police Department news release Saturday.
Both Johnson and Lewis are believed to have lived at the residence. A witness led police to Lewis, who was found a couple of blocks away from the scene.
