On Tuesday, Kern County Auto Theft Task Force officers conducted a parole search of a Bakersfield residence.
Officers found Michael Emerson seated in a vehicle at the residence, and when they arrived Emerson ran from the vehicle toward the rear of the property before being taken into custody. The vehicle he'd been sitting in was reported stolen in a Nov. 17 carjacking.
Officers also contacted Tara Hunt on the property and determined both Emerson and Hunt were in possession of the stolen vehicle.
Hunt was arrested on suspicion of possession of a stolen vehicle, and Emerson was arrested on suspicion of possession of a stolen vehicle and resisting arrest.
