A 24-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of charges including kidnapping, spousal abuse, violating a restraining order, terrorist threats and three outstanding arrest warrants after he allegedly threatened his ex-girlfriend and fled her home with their 1-year-old daughter Saturday morning.
Deputies were sent to the 500 block of Bohna Street in Bakersfield at about 7:30 a.m. Saturday for a report of spousal abuse. They spoke with a 20-year-old woman who said Erik Lacayo, whom she had an active restraining order against, had entered her home, according to a sheriff's department news release.
When the woman refused to date Lacayo, he physically assaulted her and brandished a kitchen knife, deputies said. The woman said Lacayo took their child and fled.
Deputies found and arrested Lacayo shortly thereafter in the area of Dunninger Street and Canyon Peak Drive. The child was returned to her mother unharmed. The woman complained of temporary pain but didn't need medical treatment, the news release said.
