Kern County Sheriff's academy recruits will go on a run through the streets of Oildale on Friday as they near the end of their program, according to a Kern County Sheriff's Office news release.

From 1:30 to 3 p.m., members of the Kern County Sheriff's Office Regional Training Academy will participate in the Community Pride Run. The run will take the recruits around the areas of Norris Road, Roberts Lane, Scofield Drive and California Street.

The recruits are completing a 23-week-long law enforcement academy. The idea behind the run is for the recruits to see a small portion of Kern County and for the community to see the recruits, according to the news release.
