At 7:17 p.m. Monday, deputies were dispatched to the 1300 block of Water Street regarding a victim of a shooting.
Deputies found Floyd Harris, 50, in front of his residence suffering from a gunshot wound to one of his legs. Harris told deputies he was shot by someone in an alley nearby.
Deputies went to Harris' residence in order to continue their investigation. Two people were seen looking out a window at the deputies but refused to answer the door and come out.
After a 75-minute standoff, the men left the residence and were detained. They were identified as Cory Scales, 30, and Brandon Scales, 28.
Deputies discovered Harris and his live-in girlfriend had been involved in an argument. During the argument, Harris struck his live-in girlfriend with a belt multiple times.
Harris retrieved a gun from inside the residence and shot himself in the leg. It was also determined one of the men who refused to come out of the residence began cleaning up the evidence of the shooting.
Harris will be booked on suspicion of spousal abuse, assault with a deadly weapon, discharge of a gun in a grossly negligent manner and possession of a short-barreled shotgun.
Cory Scales was arrested on suspicion of obstructing or delaying a peace officer and destroying evidence. Brandon Scales was arrested on suspicion of obstructing or delaying a peace officer.
